Northern Virginia architectural design firm is seeking a dynamic senior architect to lead the management of an exciting and growing practice. We work locally, nationally and internationally, with project size ranging from $4M to $100M. The firm today has approximate annual gross revenue of $3M and 15 employees. We have a proven track record for superior and award-winning design. We are interested in doubling our size and expanding with a second office in the next five years and are looking for a leader who can manage work, people, and clients.
The primary responsibility of the Managing Principal is for strategic vision, leadership, inspiration, quality assurance, and profitability of the office to ensure the annual plan is implemented. We are looking for a Managing Principal to manage the firm’s operations and important projects, along with developing relationships with target clients and pursuing new projects. Daily duties beyond project management would include forecasting, staff allocation, hiring, and billing.
They shall serve as a role model and mentor to the architectural support staff and also participate in activities to improve the design quality of our projects and the processes and procedures used during the design, documentation, and construction administration activities of a project. They shall also be actively involved in the marketing and business development activities of the company and develop strong professional and personal relationships with our clients, contractors, and consultants to foster repeat business.
The successful cand idate should have an architecture degree, preferably a Masters of Architecture, from a recognized school and 10-15 years of experience working in a larger or a similarly sized design firm. This is an ownership track position for the right candidate.
